DiskExec V1.20 - Changes
------------------------
Changes In This Version:
-----------------------
This Version adds a new feature to fix a Problem with the Way the Amiga
(Yeah, its not our Fault) handles DOS Drivers such as PCx: and DSx: !! I
Was begining to find this Problem annoying and was thinking of asking Yanik
to help fix this. Then my confirmation came in when we got an EMail from
Denmark from a guy who uses DiskExec Regularly (Where is out PostCard :) )
and who found this Problem anoying as well. So We fixed it!!
***Note: The guy who EMailed us (you know who you are) your Email was
accidentaly erased so We don't have your name to put into this text. We
mailed you once but it was returned (it said you were send only). If you
want your Name to be acknowledged in this Text, Re-Mail us.
The New Feature to solve this is located in the ToolTypes. The Feature
is Called "ONCE" and will solde the Problem with Amigas DOS Drivers. You
see tha Amiga treats each DOSDriver as a new Device and as Such when a disk
is inserted several Icons Appear. Each of these Drivers is treated as a
Seperate Disk Insert/Remove. So When DiskExec is introduced to a System
like this It will execute you cammand once for each Driver. (I Have 2 extra
Drivers installed on my Df1: and I have DE configured to play Samples.
Therefor DE plays a Sample 3 Times every time I put a disk in or take one
out of my Df1: (Very Annoying) See Docs for Usage of this New Feature..
Clarifications:
---------------
- Command entered must include full path to command as DiskExec is not
path-aware (This was probably why the guy that tried to Load DPaint as
a test didn't get it to Work cuz it works Now.. We Tried it) :)
Ex: INSERTED=font ----> WRONG
INSERTED=sys:prefs/font ----> RIGHT
Special Thanx:
--------------
Special thanx goes out to the Guy from Denmark (Mail us Please) who let
us know that we weren't the only ones out there using DiskExec and giving
us the incentive to Make a new Version to Fix this Anoying quirk with the
Amiga and DiskExec. Thanx also goes to the Gang on #Amiga who help support
new Programmers on the Amiga Scene and whom got DiskExec from me via DCC !
Thanx Guys!!
